Very nice Nelson. Kew doesn't accept maxillare as an accepted name but a synonym for blumei

Ron, I don't have access to Kew listings. My reference is Jim Cootes' The Orchids of the Philippines, 2001. However, I don't have any quarrel with you.

Nelson, I find this very handy with growing species. If you type in the genus and hit the "Find Name" button, you will get a full list of accepted and non-accepted names.

Did you ever think Kew could be wrong?

    I agree with Jim.

Most of the species in Kew Gardens were mislabeled (there are synonyms) and some have erroneous records published in their reference books.

There should be reclassification of species of what they have collected and just like the case of the genus Trichoglottis group where Staurochilus was not listed as genus but a part of the Trichoglottis and also Euanthe sanderiana treated as Vanda sanderiana.

We should look over the old books published which they are good references against confusion of identifying plant species.
