My mom has 2 huge pots full, plus several in the ground. My division is in a 5 gallon nursery pot.

Those are gorgeous blooms!!! Now I'm jealous!
I only have 1 Cym (Little Black Sambo 'Black Magic') & I don't think I'm growing it right. I have it in a bark mix in a clay pot........

Repot with potting mix - these are basically terrestrial plants. And they need a cool down for several months to set spikes. (But no frost/freeze)

Wow, I'm only 3 yrs older than that cymbid...I also want to be the old orchid lady (i'm already called mother nature around here) that helps everyone else starting out. That'd be cool...by the way, I can see it's been well taken care of...nice flowers! Thanks for sharing!

Ok, I put it in potting soil today... yikes!! What about watering?
It'll definitely cool down over the winter, so maybe next spring/summer it''l bloom?

Water when the top inch of soil is dry (the knuckle test). A lot will depend on your humidity... You should get blooms next spring.
