    Default Bifrenaria tyrianthina

I love this species. It hails from Brazil where it can grow in full sun. I needs a well draining medium and at least Catt light. To me, it smells like spice drops. It has been an easy bloomer although one spike blasted this year. The spike rises above leaf level.

That second shot should be in a calendar or framed. It is so beautiful. I love the darker shade, plum, on the lower petals. The fact that it is fragrant makes it that much more cool.

    Cheers,
    BD

I love fragrant species. The lilacs are in bloom in my yard, I love their fragrance! LOL, you know you are addicted to orchids when you smell lilac flowers and think they smell like Zygopetalums

Most unusual color form. Love the rosy color to the petals. Can you tell us where this came from? I've never seen one like it before.

It was a division from a friend's collection. The tag in his plant indicated it originally came from a vendor who no longer is in business. I haven't checked but I assume a google search would find a vendor for one.

Yes, 'one'. I have one. I want that one. I have seen many, but I have never ever seen any coloration such as yours and I almost wonder if it's a hybrid with Bif.purpurata.
