I have a hybrid of this. Bruce, yours looks a bit desicated -- do you give yours a dry winter rest?

Lol, it is a strange looking plant, but even the new growth looks like this. I *think* it is just how it grows. It is on the same schedule as the dends and cattleyas.

    Cheers,

Interesting! My hybrid one has plump leaves unless I forget to water it for a time. So must just be the cross I have then.

I just got one of these, although I think now it is in the Dendrobium group. Could you give me some tips on how to care for it? Does it need a winter rest? It's overgrown it's current mount and will soon be attached to a larger piece of wood.

Not much of a winter rest, Connie. We cut back water on all of our orchids over the winter, but it still gets water and food. When it starts spiking, you need to increase the amount of light it gets. It is a fairly easy orchid that likes being on a mount. Good luck with yours!

    Cheers,
    BD
