    Talking Sarcochilus hartmanii

One of the most commonly grown of the sarco.'s. I love the red markings in the center and the sparkly surface of the flowers( which doesn't come across in the pic). Thanks for checking it out!

How do I grow it?... Well I have only had it in my collection since may, but it is doing pretty well. It dropped perhaps 10% or it's leaves after arriving ( it was shipped from super ideal conditions in hawaii) Since it has lots of new growth and insane root system I think it will survive.
Reading about it I have found that it shouldn't go out in our Washington,dc humid and hot summer. It is classified as a interm/cool grower but will be fine in the house. The nursery that I got it from was actually in north Hilo on the big Island of hawaii where it is wetter and cooler then the rest of the island, but she assured me that it would do ok in normal house temps. I am misting it a lot but not watering it to much, there are so many roots in the plastic pot that repotting is soon to come. I have been pondering mounting it, but it is pretty large for that, so I'm not sure. So far so good! I sure hope I can keep it growing well! I believe it is an australian orchid.
