Default Finally! A masdie that lived and even bloomed!

While I like masdies, I generally have no luck with them (at least no good luck). My conditions are simply too warm for them. However, this one is one of the warmth tolerant hybrids. Flower isn't as pretty as I'd llike -- I prefer the bright vibrant colors of ones like coccinea and ignea -- but it's okay.

Masd. imposter x floribunda

well done Paul, and I truly understand the desire to grow these beauties... I think I might have to look out for this one if it is ok with a bit of warmth...

Nice Masdevallia, Paul! Congratulations on getting it to bloom. I love the purple color.

Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

I think it is pretty , I am in the same boat love the cool growers but don't have the right conditions for them .
Only have one that grows in the green house it is infracia color is purple with white it is warmth tolerant grows with the Phals . Another one I have is a cool grower I moved it in the house cooler there but would be really surprised if it ever blooms , usually just drops leaves Gin

I like it...you know, if you can grow these then growing the Miltoniopsis hybrids should be a piece of cake for you

As far as the masdies are concerned, I am in love with the shape and form of the plant and the flowers are sooo cool looking.

Alas, Clint, every one I have ever tried has died.

No such luck, Ron. If I had a house that might be a different story. However, as an apt dweller it's not possible IME. I don't have any 'cool' rooms. I've even tried and killed a couple Copper Angels and have a Celtic Frost that is almost dead -- just a couple leaves left to go. Both of those are supposed to be warmth tolerant...........
