    Default Platanthera ciliaris (US native orchid)

    Photographed on a recent field trip to an area about 2 hours to the north of the Orlando area. I plan to go back in another week or two, as this was the only flowering plant we found (Paul Martin Brown told us that we were a bit early for these and were lucky to have found this one):

    oooh, nice pics... This is one of the hardy orchids that (one day) I want to plant outdoors. I figure I'll build an in-ground bog and plant some of these, along with some other hardy orchids. So cool you went and found it in-situ...
