Renanthera Monachica
Well, everything else outside is burning to heck with our 3 straight weeks of over 100 degrees a day, but this guy is sporting a beautiful bloom. I got this renanthera monachica from a friend two summers ago and this is the first time is bloomed mid-summer rather than during the holidays!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

ooh, that's really cool looking. I don't have any experience w/ Renantheras, but have been thinking about trying one. Alas, too many genera, too little time, even less money...

I keep it very dry and, as you can see, it likes the heat! I treat it like my Dendrobiums.

That is beautiful. I love the bright color. You said it wants to br grown rather dry. Does a Renaaneta Sunrise Praesong want to be grown rather dry also?

Beautiful colors, bright red and bright yellowish-orange, what a fantastic combination!
