That is a great bloom! I love how dark the center is on it. Is it a tiny plant? I grow one Promenaea and the whole plant is not more than three inches tall and across. It blooms regularly for us and has similar flowers to this one you post.

    Cheers,
    BD

This plant is in a 4 1/2 ( 114mm ) diam pot thats about 90mm deep and grows in my Paph mix. I have found that once these plants get established, they will fill a pot the size I describe in 2 years. I might post a pic of the 3 plants I have, 2 of these and one of the yellow I posted earlier. The plants wouldn't be 3inches tall.

    Hi Roy,
Here is the link to my Promenaea. This photo was taken some time ago and the plant has continued to grow. I will have to get an updated photo, but my guess is that it is at least 3 inches tall by now, but maybe not. Check it out: Promenaea (stapelioides x guttata)

    Cheers,
    BD

    Beautiful!!

There is a Promenaea species in the greenhouse, growing in a small plastic pot, the plant couldn't be more than 2" tall...short spikes.

Thanks, Roy. I actually potted it up in a bit larger pot this past year sometime. I had forgotten that I repotted it.

You guys made me doubt myself so much, I decided to go see if I was just dreaming regarding the size of this little one. Here are the results. I just took these photos this morning, and they are not the best, so please forgive the fuzziness of the photos. It also looks like he is getting a bit too much water recently with the yellow leaf. I really like the darkness of the bloom you post Roy. These are such cool little plants. I hope you will post the others that you mention too.

BD, I measured the Prom plants this morning. The yellow one is 5 inches from base of bulb to tip of leaf on the new bulb. The dark one is 3 inches. Ref' the culture thread.
