    Default Encyclias papillosa or adenocarpom

I have a confusion between the Encyclia papillosa and the Encyclia adenocarpom
In the flora of Nicaragua are treated as synonyms ...
but I think it is a mistake.

Well, here I show my Encyclia papillosa .. and another that I can adenocarpom ... but I am not sure both are similar....only a slight difference in the green tepals in the first.

    I do not know.

    Encyclia papíllosa ?

    Encyclia adenocarpom ?

    Here just coming home

    Beautiful.
Regarding "but I am not sure both are similar" I recommend you to
Catalogue of Life : 2008 Annual Checklist : Encyclia papillosa (Bateman ex Lindl.) Aguirre-Olav. - a synonym for Encyclia adenocarpa (Lex.) Schltr.
    and
    IOSPE PHOTOS
Do these references help? I am not sure.

That does it. It was 7 degrees F here this morning. I am moving to Nicaragua.
(I love these plants -- great growing!)

Ana Patricia, I think the difference that you are noting is just a color variance. Comparing your 2 species does not show any difference in flower structure other than color. In the wild you will see differences is size and color. Some depends on location from where they are collected.

    Beautiful plants! Lovely flowers!
