    Smile Bulbophyllum beccarii

Native to Borneo , interesting about this species the leaves is really very huge and the native people call this plant as "elephant ear". I just noticed the flower bud on 30 /01/09, then I took serial photos of the development of this flower for you to enjoy.

P4 on 15/02/09, This is the most unwanted outcome, slowly became brown and black began at the crown than descend to the tip. I am very upset but at least few burst into flower before its rotten.

Thanks Ron, I just attached to rambutan tree with regular watering and fertilizer, currently dry season here probably that triggering the flower bud formation.

Zain, that is an awesome collection of progression shots. Something I probably would never see without you posting it. Thank you. What a strange and cool bloom.

    Cheers,
    BD
