The blooms are really pretty, but the plant itself looks(ed) like it was on its way out when photographed. It may not have been anything you did that caused the death of this orchid. Hope your second try will be successful!

    Cheers,
    BD

amabile takes bright light 2500-3000 fc...day temps 79-80F (26-27C) with night temps of 64-65 F (18C) good humidity all year . Light to moderate watering in summer heavier in the fall and into early winter, decrease water in late winter but don't let it stay dry for long periods. Needs a fast draining medium or to be mounted

Raika I agree with Ron, I have this plant very easy to grow I used charcoal for the medium and the roots so strong attached to the medium and difficult to pull it when you want to divide this plant. Never mine try again.

I think it is beautiful! I am so sorry it went to the orchid house in the sky, I hope you can get another and try again, it seems from what Ron-NY said it likes warmer temps than some dens so I would prob go for one of these, I am learning I might live in a cool temp country but the light makes everything warmer and so does central heating! this is going on my wish list!
