Default a visit to the farm series 28

Some confusion on my part with Aerides quinquevulnera var purpurata. Jim Cootes came to the rescue. Was actually bought as Aerides odorata var. calayana.

Was acquired as Paphiopedilum fowliei, but Jim Cootes identified it correctly.

I think this is the more classic form.

Jim Cootes suggests that this may be a from a locality other than the previous P. lueddemannianas posted, as the colour form is a bit different.

    Thanks, Ron.

You saw where Paphiopedilum philippinense was at home, near the gate. It was in a pot filled mainly with charcoal and some gravel.

I don't know whether another medium or watering regimen would lead to a bigger, better, or more floriferous plant.

BD, I hope there is a reason for this, but the page programming is turning all first letters of the genera names into lower case, automatically.

That is not accurate. If it cannot be fixed by the programmer, is there a way for a poster to keep the first letter in capital, or upper case?

    Thank you.

The glossary function and the tag function takes everything to lower case so to allow searching. When typing a thread with a word that is in the glossary such as Paphiopedilum, (notice how it is turned lowercase as a link in the glossary?) simply use the word twice as the second instance will not be linked to the glossary and therefore will remain capitalized. For example, now if I type Paphiopedilum rothschildianum, the genus remains capitalized.

I wish there was a way to keep proper capitalization, but right now this is the only way around the issue I have found. I will continue to work on a solution, but at least there is a work around in the meantime.

    Cheers,
    BD

    Wonderful hennisianum

gotta say that you make many of the little botanicals look interesting! I've never been able to take a decent photo of my pangasinanense!

as for the rest... you do make me want to keep on trying with the species phallies

    thank you Nelson.
