    Now Pleione Snowcap blooms ,first time ,I `ve bought two bulbs in March

    I haven't taken the plunge yet to try growing pleiones but I am really tempted.

    Have you a shot of the plant as well. I would love to see what it looks like and how big it needs to be to bloom. Pretty flowers!

    Hi BD

    here is a picture purpose made for you with a ruler



    The bulbs comes in late fall in my fridge by 3 -4 ° C in a carton from eggs .
    And in February I go to pot them and not watering.When the bulbs to thrive out I can begin to watering carefully.
    And after flowering they want it mossy all the time and with fertilizer,too.

    Only Pl. maculata and their hybrids needs higher temperatures in winter.

    And the old bulb makes one or two new bulbs for the next year .

    On the top from the old bulb ,it makes little bulbillen, they can grow to a big bulb, too..



    But it´s very difficult to grow them . Here is picture from this tiny bulbillen ,planted in February .



    They needs 3 - 4 years for flowering size.

    But the addult bulbs are easy to growing
