    This guy has about 14 spikes that I can count and 4 new growths. Will post the blooms once they open. In the background are my Neos.

    That is a healthy plant! Nice! Is this actually called bulbophyllum or is it Cirrhopetalum makoyanum? I've seen it both ways.

    good question bruce,
    coz the bloom is on the cirrhopetalum side, would like to know also.

    It is labeled Bulb. but could be a Cirrhopetalum. This a previous bloom from the other one I have, both are labeled Bulb.

    I just got on my desktop computer so I could check orchidwiz and it is Cirr. makoyanum.

    Default It depends on whether

    you are a "lumper", in which case Cirrhopetalum is a breakaway group of bulbophyllums. If you are a "splitter" then Cirrhopetalum makoyanum it is.

    BTW, if that bloom is illustrative, what you have is really Cirrhopetalum lepidum, aka Cirrhopetalum flabello-veneris, not Cirrhopetalum makoyanum. That is a common mistake of nurseries.
