No problem Derek. I am unsure who I learned that from but it is not an original idea of my own. The evaporation from the clay pots helps cool the root zone.

The ight level is fairly high, near the west wall of the greenhouse. The exhaust fans are on that wall so the air circulation is good.

I think I may try using clay pots in another clay pot to help keep the root zone cooler. I have used this trick to push the envelope with a few cool temp species before and have been successful.
Thanks for the info Ron! I've tried the pot-in-pot trick before, placing sand in-between the two pots and then soaking the sand with water. For the life of me I can't remember what the exact name for it was (they employ the same concept in Africa to refrigerate their food supplies). Anyhow, I really didn't notice any considerable temperature drop beyond just using a clay pot by itself. I'm guessing it's because the evaporation rate isn't enough where I am versus somewhere with low humidity (like Africa). What's your humidity levels like?

As a South African they are difficult to grow.
The one thing I know is that you need extremely good quality water (As you get from Table Mountain ) to grow them. Apparently any trace of Chlorine, can set them Back.
I know of one grower in Johannesburg that grows them in clay pellets or perlite, and uses only distilled water.
The one shown above is one of the better colours, there are also a lot of "little brown jobs" in the species
