I have no idea the name, but it's a cool looking flower for sure. I'll bump this one up for you...

That's a very nicely marked flower... just had a look at Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia which is a great encyclopedia of orchids... and none of them really matches.. it was almost like if you put the tepal segments of luzonensis and then put the labellum of guibertii

sorry can't help out Ron... btw, have u tried asking Nelson?

    Default I am flattered, but

    luzonensis is still my guess.

You compare with the postings in my flickr collection, too.

I was out of town hahaha.

    hi nelson,
i did compare plenty of shots. luzonensis lip is longer, thinner and more pointed, also different colour, other than that identical.
btw, does it mean it can be found only in luzon?
    thanks

My suggestion was going to be 'ask Nelson' lol, but Tim beat me to it. Maybe it is a natural hybrid, Ron?

    Cheers,

I sent the photo to Jim Cootes, who has given up after checking his reference materials.

how likely is it that this could be a new species or a natural hybrid (assuming this is wild collected)...
