So pretty! I wish I could come upon some orchids while walking around here! The only ones I'm likely to spot here are not native or wild but just some phals in a shop window.

You would be suprised how many are actually native to your area...try finding a book on it. I almost fell over when I realized I'd grown up walking past orchids in the woods out back (michigan woods) and never knew what they were.
Very nice color on this one...i'd love some of these out front!

Well, I live in the city, so to see any growing I will have to get out of here for a while! But you're right, I should get book, find out what grows in this state and when it typically blooms, and then plan a hiking trip.

Angie, the best trip is unplanned... Just go, walk, look around and take pictures! The best think is- there are no gators in your area!!! I may come up there next time! LOL
