A close friend reminded me that we used to see this on the top branches of mango trees in the provinces. He suggested that I naturalize them on a mango tree.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a mango tree in the farm!

You're welcome. It was Jim Coote's book that I started out with; however some synonyms were not explained there, so I end up looking for help in other reference materials, like Helen Valmayor's Orchidiana Philippiniana (1984), and IOSPE (even though it has errors also).

Hmmm .... could it be because praemorsa wants warmer temperatures than in Tagaytay where climate is much cooler?

I saw a vendor-friends' collection of praemorsa who has a garden in bulacan where the climate is very much warmer and they were doing very well. In fact the temperature was sweating hot when I was there and there appeared to be no cooling breeze at all. They have their praemorsas planted differently (or is it wierdly??) - on the ground but the planting medium are medium sized, smooth, dark, oval-shaped stones. The kind of stones that I see in the gravel stores. They dug a trench, filled it up and landscaped it with those stones and planted the praemorsas there.

I was surprised to see them planted on ground level in that way but they are doing very, very well and growing strong and their roots are rambling around profusely under the stones.

Mmm looks a lot like retusea. I though Rhycostylis only have three species (gigantea, coelestics, retusea). It's a new species? or a variety?
