    Default plocoglottis acuminata, philippines

    hi,

this plant is terrestrial and grows often along riverbanks in shady areas. whats interesting about it is, the lip acts like a spring and traps the pollinator inside.
aside from that, i love how it unfolds, but never quite full until its wilting.
lovely waxy bloom, which are more yellow in reality.

here are the documented stages of unfolding, opened and wilted.

sorry for the pix, best i could do.

Now we wouldn't want that! heheh....

This one is new to me also. I like the fact that it captures it's pollinator. Cleaver plant insures its future.

    Cheers,
