Default Clowesia rosea

One of the most beautiful orchid flowers with its fringed lip and rose-pink color (nice fragrance, too...like Big Red chewing gum--cinnamon with a hint of mint). Culture similar to a Catasetum (to which it is related):

Enjoy!

Wow. I've never heard of that, let alone seen it. That's truly stunning. I also think these are nicer shots than the ones you have in your gallery, or maybe the blooms have just opened more. How big are the flowers?

Louis, this is the same Clow. rosea that is in my gallery...it's likely that your browser is shrinking the image when you go to view it (if you're using IExplorer, you will need to mouse over the lower right corner of the picture to get a zoom icon - in Netscape, you just click over the image when a magnifying glass cursor appears).

To answer your flower size question...the flowers are slightly over 1 inch across.

That is stunning. Does it have a dry period?

Prem, it might be a camera angle issue: the flowers in the pics at your gallery here look more cupped to me. Either way, they're really something else. Could you PM me where you got yours? Would you be willing to let go of a division?

Debbie, I might be wrong but I think these bloom on bare PBs. If they're like catasetums, they'll have a winter rest period where they should be kept drier, but I'm not sure on these specifically.

Louis, I see now...that was an old pic taken several years ago with a different camera...these new photos were posted to my high-quality stock photo gallery. I don't have any divs to spare, as my plant only has a few p-bulbs itself...maybe in a few years.

____________ has carried this plant in the past, but it was not cheap...something like $50 for a blooming sized plant.

I got mine from ___________ via e-bay. His website is:

check with him and see if he knows of any place to obtain this orchid.

Oh, and they do bloom on bare p-bulbs just like a Catasetum.
