Zygo "Blue Bird"
Hi all:
Bought this a few years back. Tag reads "Blue Bird" but cannot find much on it. Its a great little plant...blooms 2 times each year and leaves do not get too large as Zygos tend to do.
Very fragrant too !!
Any help with its name or any background info will be much appreciated.
Thanks and hope you enjoy
Jack

very nice rich color...There is a Artur Elle 'Blue Bird' , I wonder if that is what you have although it does not look like pure Zygopetalum to me.

Hi Ron:
With your 'clue' I think I found it on online. Cultivar appears to be: Zygosepalum 'Rhein Moonlight'
What do you think?

what amusing petals.
Are they bicolored , white behind & wine ahead?
I can see some hue indigo in lip. Very nice.

There has been quite a bit of Zygosepalums with just a clonal name out there and not a cultivar name. I believe that they are all varieties of Zygosepalum Louisendorf. Jack, Google that and tell me what you think

Amazing photos! Someday, I'll venture into the "bulb" orchids. For now, I'll stick with the easy Phals :P

Ron:
Definately some similarity and in all probability mine is some hybrid of that plant. I do like the flower shape on mine though.
The flowers on my plant are approx 4" accross. yet a relatively small plant. Bloom 2 X per year and not too large.....gives me something to enjoy while I wait...and wait for my multifloral Paphs to put on their infrequent show.
