    Default Chdrh Discolor

This is the 3rd or 4th bloom in the last couple of months and I see another bud on the plant. Each flower blooms on its own stem. Some of the leaves are pleated--probably lack of humidity. Since the first bloom, this has been sitting in the living room but not under lights or in front of a window. The room is pretty bright, however.

The fragrance is pleasant, sort of woodsy, perhaps a bit like sandalwood.

I am not familiar with this one, but I like its shape and nearly blue color. How do you grow it?

It's a smallish plant, perhaps 6 - 8 inches high with lots of thin leaves. The flower petals form the purple throat, the sepals are smaller and white with the top sepal jutting forward and the two others folded back. There are no obvioous pseudobulbs.

It's still in the original potting mix. It's not really growing well, probably needs more humidity--I always seem to have trouble with thin-leaved orchids. It's just been under lights, then outside, until I noticed the buds and brought it in. I suspect it might do fine on a windowsill, but I don't know. I've had one of these before, and I'm not sure if it bloomed for me after the original blooms died. Not sure if this helps any.

The color on that Chondrorhyncha is so deep. I love the saturate purple.

    Cheers,
