Love the color combo on the flowers. Seems to be pretty unique by your description of the way it opens up. Would love to see your grow area as well.

    B. pardolatum is quite rare. Your plant is hard to differentiate from the yellow color form of Bulbophyllum elassoglossum.

I had posed the same identity question to Jim Cootes, author of The Orchids of the Philippines (2001) and he remains convinced that what I (we) have is the yellow color form of Bulbophyllum elassoglossum.

I am quite sure your plant came from the Philippines.

Are there many orchids that open and close by day? I think this if the first time I have heard of this.

    Cheers,

I just acquired one of these, also labeled Bulb. pardalotum, and it looks like this one. It has one bloom at the moment which I haven't seen completely opened (probably because I leave early and get home late). It has another spike coming up. How do you grow this one? I've read they do best when mounted. Mine is currently in a small basket of moss.
