    Default Aerides and Trichoglottis

The first one is a trichoglottis latesepala, i got it from the orchid show about
3 weeks ago. Its blooming nicely, just dont ask me to take a photo of the
    blooms.

The second one is labeled Vanda lawrenciae x Vanda sanderiana, but i think its
Aerides lawrenciae var sanderiana (what do you think), i got it from an orchid
farm about 2-3months ago in spike, it started to open last week the same time
i took the photo, now its in full bloom. Oh and its fragrant too.

thanks for confirming my suspicion. I got suspicious as the leaves dont resemble a vanda.
and the flowers dont show any signs of v. sanderiana in there. After doing some research
i found out that it may be indeed a aerides lawrenciae var sanderiana.

    thanks.

thanks for the correction so this is just plain old aerides lawrenciae.

    bd
actually if you look closer you'll see that the trichoglottis latesepala is in bloom, you can
see them at the lower left on the photo. I cant take a good closeup of it as i dont
    have a good cam yet.

    thanks.

"plain old Aerides lawrenciae" is a beautiful plant. It is the largest of the genus, and the fragrance is wonderful.
Plus, it is endemic to the Philippines, in the islands of Mindanao and perhaps Leyte.

thanks it is beautiful, and it is indeed a large plant. It is fragrant indeed, when i took this
photo theres not so much fragrant, but now that the plant is in full bloom, you can really
    appreciate it.
