    Default Lycaste Takagamine

This just opened yesterday and another bud should be ready in another week. I've posted pictures of this in the past but this is the first time this flower has opened for me that it wasn't scared with brown water marks.

I did a search about this flower and found a white Lycaste with the same name and parents. What's with this????? This flower is NOT mine; downloaded from internet with the following caption, "Photo of Lycaste Takagamine below is that of an orchid which was cultivated by Mr. Keisuke Kaiho and displayed at the Orchid Show 2007 in Minuma Green Center (Saitama Prefecture, Japan)."

That red lycaste is super. I'm trying a lycaste again to see if it will bloom for me. If it does, then this is next on my list!

Not sure what is up with the white one, probably mislabeled?? The red one in your collection is stunning.

Never seen such an intense red lycaste before, stunning. May be you should rename your one to 'Lipstick' Howard?

Very very nice. For me it looks like a very refined and elegant rose.

From what others tell me, the color can vary from white to pink and on to red based on how much Lycaste skinneri.
