    hi margo, very nice!
    and i think you helped me to id my mystery plant here! wasnt even sure if its an orchid, but now im 90% positiv.
    i googled around and from what i saw, the bulb is always above the ground, how was yours?
    unlike in IOSPE it says, its underground?
    mine is mounted on a coconut husk and seems to do fine, just super slow growing and doesnt like too much full sun.
    leaves are extremely fleshy and hard, right?

    cheers,

    Stefano, THANKS!!! You nailed it!!! Where are you located?
    Now question number two... I also took one seed pod and now I wonder if as a ground orchid I should just "plant" the seeds with "mommy" or flasking is a better idea?!
    Ron, I am glad this thread helped you as well!!!! The bulbs on this one were under ground and I doubt the owner even knew it was an orchid... He was just very happy to make me happy- took several bulbs out with a big knife for me! Ron, can you post a picture of yours here? Your leaves doesn't sound like the same ones...

    I am in brooklyn NY, can you send me a PM i cant seem to be able to initiate as I am not a senior member - or anyway stefpix is my gmail as well and my website [add .com]. I would search google. I think if it is an invasive ground specie maybe it does not need flasking, maybe does not need fungi. but I would maybe search as I am a novice and making assumption. but if you have seeds maybe you have many and you can try both ways....
    it is a great looking flower.
    Have you ever seen it in the wild down there? have you seen any Enc tampensis as well?

    Stefano, Check out this link for help. One need not be a senior member to use the PM system. Good luck! Private Messages in OrchidTalk The final paragraph directs how to turn on the PM system.

    Cheers,

    hi margo,
    will post a pix the next days.

    @andrea
    mine hasnt bloomed yet, almost died on me, coz it got too much sun, but recovered and the bulbs fattened up as a result, so not too bad.
