I just love this Stanhopea. In Australia this one is hard to get your hands on. I'd love to own 1 of my own.

I'm curious haw long the flower last in the nature? Stanhopea required cool environment, but my plant bring flowers in July. hottest and dried month in Germany, so after four days the flowers are over. Bad luck.

Most Stanhopia's blooms are short lived. I have never had one last longer than 5 days.

Very beautiful ! Stanhopeas are doing great for you it seems, even in Malaysian weather. 6 of mine are not doing good at all. They keep on producing new growths, but after a point, they turn yellow and die. Have any suggestions for me???

    Hi Amey.
I think yours are cool to intermediate species that the reason it's behave like that refused to bloom only producing new shoots. As far as I'm concern only 2 species can bloom in my hand, Stan grandiflora and Stan candida the rest wardii, nigroviolacea, tigrina, tricornis and insignis that I have in my collection reluctant to flower due to hot weather. My recommendation choose grandiflora and candida.Good luck.

That is very unusual for this type of orchid to like the mango trees bark. In my experience, Most orchids that I know which are grown here do not do well if attached to local mango trees because the mango tree tends to be acidic like the tamarind tree where I notice orchids do not do well if mounted on those types of wood.
