    Default aporodes fragrans, philippines

    hi folks,

    im uberexcited with this one, it smells like fresh laundry out in the sun!

    this genus was established by jim cootes and his filipino colleague. more known as eria aporoides, previously described as dendrobium and others.

    i like the color combo of those showy leaves, yellow/orange bracts and white sparcling bloom.

    enjoy,

    thanks tom,
    those "canes" reaching up to 30 cm and they twist and turn, and they are very stout and leaves are hard and fleshy, thats why i had a hard time taking pix also from the whole plant, its hidden behind my dendro in a coconut husk.

    roots are eria like, hence the confusion with identification, so treat em like eria's.

    i will attach another pix to see the size of the flowers, i know you wanna see my fingers!!!

    @randy,
    bloom stay fully open the whole day, closing at evening, semi open in the morning, and i think thats it. i believe it throws out blooms every now and then, lets see.

    thanks for all comments!!!

    I would have not guessed they were so small from the first photos. Really cool!

    Cheers,
