    This is the first bloom for me on a wonderful gift I received from one of my friends, Bird Song Farm, AKA Al. Thanks Al. I hope I've done your plant justice. There is a second spike that should open in another week or so.

    You are so funny! It does remind me of the hula skirt, the kind that is made of straw...

    Wow! This looks like the spotted variety. I have one of the plain variety that has several blooms that are about to open. I'll post some in a couple of days when they're ready. I have to say I really like the spotted one.
