Thanks Abiom- I am a bit obsessed with fragrance. All my smelly orchids are in the Cattleya alliance but I am planning to expand my collection in the direction of fragrant Phals and Cymbidiums as well. I think I like the challenge, because these are so hard to get hold of here. So to start off, I am researching the subject to acquaint myself with as many as I can.
    Cheers!

Ok, went home at noon today. Put my nose so close and touch the flower. The result-very soft odour, not fragrant or stink. First thought that came to my mind-cym finlay odour like, but subtle. So far, my Cym atropurpereum produced the strongest cocnut oil like odour.

The name stinks but the flower is very nice. it is very close to the appearance of the cymbidium finsolaynianun.

Oh my, this was my laugh of the day. Such a pretty flower deserves a better name. Someone had a perverse sense of humor.
