Some one told me that orchid with only white and green color flower and long spur, usually release its fragrance at night. Does this Hab fit that rule?

If you are referring to habenarias, then Habenaria susannae fits the bill. The plant is about 1 metre tall with 3-4 inch flowers and a very long spur. It is extremely fragrant and the scent can carry for quite a distance. However the other white habenaria sumatrana of dwarf habit about 2 inches tall with many small flowers 1/2 ins across,on an erect spike, has no smell that I could detect. The other habenaria that I am familiar with is the pink one, a pic of which, I have posed some time ago. Incidentally I have seen all 3 habenarias growing in the wild as they occur in the state where I live.

By the way Habenaria sumatrana in full bloom( around April) is wonderful sight to behold. Once while taking part in a Hash House run I had to literally run through a sea of white in a rubber estate. Needless to say I felt extremely guilty having to trample down some of them.
