Zainal, your climate should be fine for that species though... However, I believe all species(and they look so much alike) from this genus are slow growers and I did have some difficult time to get my seedling established at the begining. I grow my Eriopsis biloba I/W(slightly cooler in the winter), potted in CHC mix, bright shade(~1800-2000FC) and moist year round(maybe slighly drier in winter but nothing serious). Give it another try and good luck with it.

    Tom,

when does your Eriopsis grow: in summer or winter? I bought two seedlings (sceptrum and biloba) from Ecuagenera three years ago and am still waiting for them to flower (I attached a picture of the biloba). Both my plants tend to start growing in autum and the new growth matures in March and April: this makes it a bit hard to give them adequate light with the short days and not many sunny days. Not sure whether they are still on a southern hemisphere clock.

    When do your plants grow?

    Lars

Lars, My E. biloba will start the new growth(hopefully growths someday) in Early or late fall and finish the growth in early June of the following year, then it will just sit there doing nothing for two or three months. IMO, it doesn't need a lot of light to grow or bloom this species, I grow it bright but less than Cattleya light.
Flowers only last for 2-3 weeks.

Amey, it will grow warm but not too hot.

Thanks Tom: similar here, it starts growing in autumn and growth finishes in late spring, early summer. I'll just have to be patient ...
