Odontoglossum

This is a discussion on Odontoglossum within the Orchids of Other Genera IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; Have no idea what species this is. When I bought it about a year ago ...

    Have no idea what species this is.
    When I bought it about a year ago I was told it was an odontoglossum.
    Wld be grateful if anyone give more info.

    There are care sheets for the "oncidium" alliance plants here. Also; there is a breakdown of all the names so you know what plants made up the cross now named Odontoglossum. If you look around the articles and information for new growers you will run across them. You have one beautiful plant...I can see why you bought it.

    Odontoglossum is natural, it is not a genus made from crossing. You have a beautiful orchid. This may be a Vuylstekeara though, instead of Odontoglossum. Maybe someone who grows it will see it and be able to help with the name.

    Well. I'd be curious to know. By the way, Vuylsteke was one of the earliest orchid growers in our neck of the woods out here.

    I agree with Pavel. Could be a Wilsonara.The odontoglossum influence is quite noticeable.
