Wow, if I am not mistaken it is a Dachtylorhiza specie right? There was recently a news in an Indian newspaper that certain Cypripedilums in UK have been given police protection as they have been over collected from there native habitat and collectors are willing to pay a huge some of 1600 Pounds for these plants !! I hope you stumble upon some of those the next time LOL hehe

All this collecting in the wild of species that are under pressure is indeed extremely sad.
I can only strongly subscribe to the strict policing.
And on top the Cypripedium calceolus, which I assume is the one that wld be gathered in the wild in Europe, is being cultivated by Orchid growers (I visited a grower a couple of weeks ago in Holland and bought one myself).

I think Rudy was talking about the story in the papers about the cyps. We are happy to have been able to see those pictures of orchids growing happily in the wild, that you took.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I was indeed referring to the story about the Cypripediums.
I loved your pictures a great deal myself.
The ones I took in Scotland did not turn out nearly as well.
By the way, if you wonder how I came up with the name of the orchids which looked very similar if not identical to the ones you photograped, I asked the ranger on site at 'Arduaine Gardens', where some of surrounding meadows are managed specifically to encourage the growth of wildflowers.
