This is the first bloom of the Oersterdella psuedoschummaniana that I got from Orquideas Tropicales in Panama. A second plant is in spike.
I wish I had a blue cattleya in flower now as the lip on this is so blue it is stunning - pity my camera cant quite capture it. I wonder what you might get if you crossed it to a good blue catt. Well, I guess its one of the future to try.
I will self and outcross this plant. I wonder about heat tolerance. It must have some as Gaspar was growing it in Panama City.
A Sobralia callosa from him is also in bud.
