    Default Bulbophyllum dearii

This opened today. So I don't know how it's going to look in a couple of days. The lip is hinged and is sooooo cool to watch. No fragrance as of yet. Now if I could only get my Bulb Frank Smith to flower!!!!!

This is in a 4" pot and growing as I type

These are divisions of the above plant taken just a month ago.

Since you divided the frank smith, Howard, it might not bloom till it gets new growth. Love the Bulbophyllum dearii!

    Cheers,

The divisions of the Frank Smith were taken from "out growths" that were hanging over the edge of the pot. I didn't physically remove the entire plant so I would think the main plant should be doing something. I know the two divisions may not flower until next year, but the main plant should do something besides all the new growth.

Yes, I agree. I misunderstood when you said divided. The main plant, if it has new growth, should bloom. Most likely you need to increase the light. Try hanging it in the top of your greenhouse or outside where it can get much higher levels of light (be careful of burn obviously, but you know that

I hope you see some blooms soon on it, Howard.

    cheers,
    BD
