    Default Rhyncostylis retusa Amey's delight

Rhyncostylis retusa is a major hit at OT, so many people have shown off their Rhyncos, here are some of mine. As most of the things in India, the monsoons were LATE and some were my Rhynco blooms. I have 17 of these plants, 5 of which I collected some 4 years ago, some I bought and some are their keikis. Amongst the collected specimens is a unique plant which i have dubbed as Ameys delight, its a mutant, instead of the 5 petals and lip, this plant produces 3 petals and a lip, a few flowers have the complete flowers (2%). Here are the pictures.

Here is the plant with 3 flowering inflorescence and one developing

For comparison here are some of the normal variants

This one is a keiki from another plant which is yet to bloom and is the longest inflorescence of all about 18 inches

Thanks ! Rhyncos are very reliable bloomers and a must have for orchid enthusiasts with hot humid climates. They are very easy to care for.
