    Default Green Fly

The only species of epythytic orchid that grows and blooms above (approx) Gainesville, FL, USA. These pictures were taken at Blakely State Park in Alabama. These plants are growing over several huge live oaks - there are hundreds of plants on these trees, and hundreds of blooms. It was spectacular! Like little white Christmas tree lights twinkling all over the trees. I'm sorry the pics are so bad but I only have a small camera. Well, they are just reaching peak blooming so go see them for yourself! You won't be sorry. Each bloom is only about 3/8th inch across.Name: IMG_7488.jpg

The last photo show off the bloom well, Tami. That must be so cool to see growing like that. Thanks for the share.

    Cheers,

Yes, most were so high in the trees we could only see them well with binoculars. But with so many blooming you could see them twinkle all over the place! It was very cool.

That's great. I've been looking to buy one of these for a long time, awesome to find them growing wild.
