    Default Restrepia ID

I bought this one in spring as Restrepia elegans, it blossoms now and I began to doubt of its identity. Any idea?

It is beautiful, Branka, but I don't know if it is elegans or not.

    Cheers,

Definitely not elegans. I painted elegans once, in watercolor and it is spotted, not striped. Refer to Jay Pfahls picture at IOSPE PHOTOS
While you are there, you may find your Res. in those pictures.
    Good Luck.

Bruce - it is elegant, yes, but for shure not elegans
Don Keim - I was watching this site too and that's why I doubted; I think it is Restrepia purpurea.

Without going through all the Restrepia pictures there, I think you might be correct in purpurea. The thing about a genus like Restrepia is that there are not that many hybrids being made and you can pretty much assume it is a species and when you find a picture from a reputable site you can pretty much bet you have the correct id.
Like you said, absolutely elegant, just not elegans.
