Boy, what you are doing may work for you, for me it may not since i mostly
grow bareroot and i water my plants 2x daily. Also what you have may not
be asco. miniatum but auranthiacum.... since miniatum is not a native from
    our country.

    Hi Boy,

Ascocentrum miniatum is a native of Java, and does not occur in the Philippines. What you have is Ascocentrum aurantiacum subsp. philippinense.

    hi guys,

    thanks for the response

my friend said that he bought it from bangkok when he spent a 3 days vacation their last july. will post a pics once it blooms considering the sign of bud cuttings, the leaf is only about 2 - 3 inches in length. the total span is about 5 inches only.

I have also a asco aurantiacum in bloom which i bought during the midyear POS period from a trader at the Lung Center weekend market for only Php 50. i wonder when this will bloom again

Boy are you sure that is an asc miniatum? 'That's because miniatum is not native or found in the philippines. Most folks and the common vendors around have just gotten the habit of calling everything that is orange and small that looks like the native asc auriantiacum and garayi a miniatum. I really don't know how that habit got started in the first place.

right now i stand with what my friend who visited bangkok just recently had said to me that it is a native of thailand, though i'm already having second thoughts about it seeing the asco garayi, the leaves are almost the same will never know until it blooms
