I have seen the same plant on sale in a store with the tag 'Dendrochilum filiforme' on it, but I am not sure about its name. On Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia it says D. filiforme should have two leaves per bulb. This one has only one leave.

Any help with ID would be most welcome.

The english name for D. filiforme being 'Golden Chain Orchid' would seem quite appropriate however.

    Hi Rudy,

Your plant is Dendrochilum filiforme, without a doubt. Don't believe everything you read on Orchids Species Photo Encyclopedia.

    All the best,

Jim couldn't have said it better.

BTW, Den. filiforme sometimes has two leaves on the bulb. In fact, it's mixed - on some of the local species I have seen here being sold - on a single plant, some bulbs have one leaf while others have two.

    Just FYI. Cheers!
