Lars, did you get your cathartii in US? I would like to have one. It's a great plant.
@Ian, no in Germany & the clarkei too.
    Lars
P.S.: Attached a pic of clarkei. See the different lip compared to the pictures in the thread. Maybe the picture of the plant in the thread is a hybrid which has Arachnanthe clarkei in it.

    Lars,

i have many books about China native orchids and in all of them, the plant above is named Esmeralda bella. Look at the pictures. The first book describe orchids of Chinese island Hainan, unfortunately, only in Chinese.
I went to my greenhouse. I have Esmeralda cathartii, jut forgot it. I'm afraid I've reduce my collection or write down a list of my orchids. This I hate.

No, I could not find much information about Esmeralda bella or Arachnanthe bella.

Except, check out IOSPE, which states that Arachnanthe bella is a synonym for clarkei. But then the question is what the plant of this thread is, and who is right or wrong. Maybe there are different forms of clarkei?

Very nice, first time seeing this not to mention reading about this genus. I did a quick
IOSPE search for this and saw that its a cool growing... another one that I wont be able
to grow too bad since I really want one.
