    Wink Bulbophyllum echinolabium blooms

This is one stinky bulbophyllum orchid! Bulbo echinolabium is a species orchid from Boreno and Sulawesi. I love the long bloom with the blood red center, but the 'fragrance' is just awful - like rotting fish or something. I didn't think to smell it the first time I saw it open but stuck my nose in it tonight and it is terrible. haha...

I have several crosses of this like....

    Bulbophyllum echinolabium X Bulbophyllum longissimum
    Bulbophyllum echinolabium X Bulbophyllum putidum

    and the plant itself

    Bulbophyllum echinolabium

Right now, my echinolabium has 2 buds on a spike, hopefully it starts to flower soon

    Cheers

Beautiful! I love this orchid, and was about to buy one online a few weeks ago, when I noticed the "fragrance" was described as "dead mouse". I changed my mind on that one!!
