Default Vanda lamellata and Aerides lawrenciae flowering season

Just in their flowering season eventhough they are heavily damaged.

Many of my plants got killed because of sudden drop and rise of temperatures, some were attacked by black orchid weevil that killed my Trichoglottis bataanensis and Trichoglottis mindanensis, and heavy rains almost poured too much water to plants so wet that causes leaf blight, dead heart, root rot, fungal, bacterial and viral infections. The weather is very cruel nowadays because of the effect of global warming.

It is often to see them to orchid peddlers. It costs P150 each newly cut plant with flowers. Last time, I didn't bought all of them because there are too much expensive for me. I only bought 1 piece because I see differences in their flowering characteristics, it has 1 1/2 feet long flower spike and large yellow column. I do have the old A.lawrenciae v.sanderiana but it has short flower spikes and small flowers. I can trade this anytime if I have at least 100 pieces of this variety limited only to the Philippines because of international trade restrictions that this species is considered as an endangered species.

Derek.... sorry for the lost, how did you eradicate the aggressive weevil, this little bugs also causing a problem to me by sucking the saps from the new stem and make the flowers distorted?

I have no idea how to eradicate them. They are almost everywhere, wherever there is an orchid, there is weevil roaming around. I only spray water based household insecticide, very effective but too much expensive. I don't use synthetic chemicals because they are health hazard. Some insects at home were already immune of chemicals applied to them. That's terrible for us that they are evolving resisting to synthetic chemicals.

congrats with your blooms phils. i've given up the fight with this weevils or bugs attacking my orchids though sometimes a blast of organic/home-made pesticide sometimes work but i guess survival of the fittest na lang.
