    Thanks ; how nice to find someone who uses a light meter , too ! So many people can only talk in terms of bright, shaded etc, which are pretty meaningless.
    2500 is the high end of what I can provide. I have just been out and checked ( 9.30 am on a grey winter's day , it is actually snowing ( quite unusual for this extreme southern part of England very near to the sea - we had 4 inches of snow in the night )and under my supplementary gro-lamps there is 2000 fc at maximum. In the summer , on days where there is clear sky, and nearer mid-day ,it would be 2500 - the lamps are switched off at the end of March .
    I have two plants of H. kimballianum, Encyc. which I guess will be similar in needs ( your species is on my wish-list) and both were further away from the main lit area , but now moved closer.

    You can grow it just like H. kimballianum. I have a large H. kimballianum and it has been blooming since june.

    Geoff, I prefer only have my own picture in my own thread. If it is a community thread, you are more than welcome to post.
