    Default Telipogon sp.

    A miniature Telipogon, plant about 3-4cm tall. The flowers are 2cm wide.



    For size comparison, the mount is 7x5cm:


    Callus/column detail:


    All species of Telipogon appear to be pollinated by flies of the family Tachinidae. The center of the flower looks like a female Tachinid fly and the flower is pollinated by pseudocopulation. Tachinid flies

    The function of the appendix (the "hook") is to provide landing aid for potential pollinators.
