    The genus name comes from the taxonomist Charles Schweinfurth, who used the shorthand "C. Schweinf." on his work.

    thanks for the explanation, i always wondered...
    "schwein" (german) = "pig", not really nice for an orchid, lol.
    "schweinfurth" is also a city in germany.
