First time blooming for me. Got this one a for a quite a while now, its my second one since my
first one died when I accidentally exposed it to full sun.

Last Saturday while checking up on my plants, I noticed that theres a red spot on one of
the pseudobulbs, it turned out that a bud is pushing out of it. And on Sunday noon I looked
at it again and its fully open, i find the development quite fast. Anyway just 1 bloom but im
    very excited with it.

I'm glad I read your post. I'd thought they needed higher light.

The plant enjoys bright light but not very hot temperatures. They like humidity but they don't want to be soggy wet as in wet feet. If they are watered they like to dry out quickly.

I lost my plant before because my grow area gets really wet and doesn't dry out too quickly when I water. So the seond time around I got another plant and I hang it up near the ceiling where the plant gets lots of light and dries out quickly when I water. Temperatures aren't too hot in my grow area on the ground floor of my townhouse. This works for me and my second plant appears to be growing well ... I learned from my first mistake before.

    Hope this helps. Cheers all!
