I asked a friend to take a look at it. He grows lots of bulbo orchids. Maybe he will be able to give you the identification.

    Cheers,

    Hi Ian,

There's no way your plant could be a putidum- that is a completely different plant. I wish I could see the base of the labellum, but we can narrow our guesses to Cirrhopetalum flabellum-veneris or C. cumingii.

thanks for the info WALTER, i guess partly its my fault because took his words for granted and didn't check the pic of a putidum out from internet....yeap, you are definitely right. as for cirrhopetalum cumingii....the flower doesn't seems quite match to mine. cirrhopetalum flabellum veneris is one of the possibility i came across earlier,,,,maybe its flabellum veneris afterall.
    thanks for feed back

    Hi Ian,

If you have a magnifying glass and the plant is still in flower- and if you're really interested to know what your plant is, I suggest you take a look at the labellum, no matter how tiny they are. If you see a pair of tubercles or lumps at the base of the lip, then what you have is C. cumingii. If there is none, then it is C. flabellum-veneris.

    I hope that helps, mate.
